The Journey of Creation: From Inspiration to Reality

ree

Hello and welcome to my blog! This space is where I share my journey through the mystical and personal realms of tarot and art, shaped by both passion and the unexpected turns of life.

The Genesis of My Tarot Journey

From the very beginning, tarot has been a constant source of inspiration and learning for me. My relationship with tarot started in 1988, and over the decades, I've delved into its rich symbolism, collecting various tarot decks, mostly historic reproductions, and books that explore their meanings and correspondences. Despite my deep immersion, remembering the meanings of the cards without a book has always been a challenge, one that led me to look for new ways to connect with tarot.

Embracing New Technologies

As my physical abilities began to change due to ALS, so did my methods of creating. Adopting AI and eye-tracking technology, I initially aimed to create simple black and white icons for each tarot card for a personal website. This endeavor proved to be more challenging yet inspiring than anticipated, leading me down the path of creating intricate coloring images that resonated deeply with the essence of tarot.

The Accidental Creation of a Coloring Book

What started as a functional endeavor to organize my thoughts evolved into an artistic expression, culminating in the creation of a tarot coloring book. These images, initially intended as mere icons, grew into a collection that felt meaningful enough to share. Each image was crafted not just to evoke the traditional meanings of the cards but to stir the feelings and intuitions that come when one interacts with the tarot.

Navigating Life's Challenges

Throughout this journey, I've faced significant health challenges that have not only tested my resilience but also hastened my transition to using technology more intensively. Moving to a long-term care facility, I found a new rhythm in life and art, allowing me to continue my work on the tarot series more earnestly.

What Lies Ahead

With the Major Arcana edition now complete, I look forward to continuing this series by focusing on the four elements—Fire, Water, Air, and Earth, as some may have noticed in the Major Arcana which incorporated the elements where needed.

Thank you for visiting my blog. I invite you to join us on the forum as we explore the mysteries of tarot together through color, story, and the transformative power of art. Stay tuned for more posts where I delve deeper into the creative process and the personal stories behind each card.

Happy coloring, Lilianne Raymonde Catudal
